Doug Deady is the Principal of Strategic Counsel, LLC, a financial advisory and legal practice based in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.
From 1995 through 2003, Deady practiced law and became a partner with the firm that is now Husch Blackwell LLP. His legal practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, securities, international business, commercial transactions, and assisting entrepreneurs.
From the end of 2003 until mid 2009, Deady was an investment banker with Christenberry Collet & Co. where he engaged primarily in M&A financial advisory work for electric, gas, and water utilities, energy companies, manufacturing companies, and technology companies as well as capital formation for start-up and growth oriented companies.
In mid-2009, Deady founded Strategic Counsel, LLC.
Throughout his career Deady has helped boards, executives, and business owners negotiate and manage asset and stock transactions for public, private, and cooperatively-owned companies, assisted with private equity and venture capital investments, and counseled borrowers and lenders on significant finance arrangements, including credit facilities, work-outs and reorganizations. He has assisted several large corporations with comprehensive internal reorganizations involving the creation of hundreds of subsidiaries and the transfer of billions of dollars in assets. Deady has extensive experience working with electric, gas and water utilities, in energy and construction related matters, and with technology-driven transactions.
Deady earned his B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration, M.S. in Accounting with honors, and Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas. He previously held Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses (presently inactive). Deady is a member of the Missouri Bar.
